THE SILKIE - YOU'VE GOT TO HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY 7" (ORIGINAL DICK JAMES ACETATE RECORDING). Fab to uncover original (single sided) Dick James 7" recording of The Silkie's version of You've Got To Hide Your Love Away. The acetate is in VG condition showing a number of surface marks though no heavier scratches. The band were helped by John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison to record a cover version of the song on 9 August 1965 at the IBC Studios at around the same time as The Beatles' own version was released on their album Help! Lennon produced the session, while McCartney contributed guitar and Harrison tambourine.

A six string right-handed acoustic guitar by EKO - made in Italy. Manufacturer's label within shows this as the ' Ranger Folk ' model and made in Recanati, Italy, probably in the 1970's. Rosewood fretboard and stylised batwing shape pick / finger guard. Comes in a soft carry case by ' Sun Spark ' and there is also an ' Adagio ' capo. Measures approximately 40cm x 103cm.

Early 1974 The photograph of Steve Jones was most probably taken in Warwick ‘Wally’ Nightingale parent’s house back garden in Hemlock Road, East Acton, London W12. This house was used as rehearsal space for ‘The Strand’ (named after the Roxy Music song) which was the band Steve Jones and Paul Cook were in, along with Warwick ‘Wally’ Nightingale (guitar), Steve Hayes (bass) and Jimmy Mackin (organ), prior to forming the Sex Pistols in 1975. Photographer unknown, possibly Warwick ‘Wally’ Nightingale or Paul Cook.
