JIMI HENDRIX: 4 TRACKS - Here we have two 4-track releases from Hendrix. Both are in Ex+ condition and offer the chance to own some the guitar master's work on an extremely rare format. We have a copy of "Band of Gypsys" (M472) and "Rainbow Bridges" (RST 2040 C) - a compilation album pieced together posthumously after Jimi's death.
HENDRIX - BAND OF GYPSYS - The critically acclaimed live album was the first Jimi Hendrix release without the supporting members of the Jimi Hendrix experience. This copy (2406 002, Ex+/Ex) is the original issue of the UK release in 1970. It features the 'puppet sleeve' which was later withdrawn amidst a degree of controversy as the four, unflattering likenesses of Hendrix, John Peel, Bob Dylan and Brian Jones seemingly had no connection to each other or the record. Eventually, this cover was replaced by the more familiar picture of Jimi playing the guitar live. This lot offers a fantastic opportunity to own a great condition version of the original release - a piece of musical history!
RORY GALLAGHER: UK AND GERMAN RELEASES There are six albums here from the enigmatic guitar talent, five UK releases and one German. All of them are original issues and offer a selection of studio releases, live recordings and compilations. The LPs are "Rory Gallagher" (2383 044, Ex+/VG+) and "Deuce" (2383 076, VG+/Ex+). The live recordings are "Live! In Europe" (2383 112, Ex+/Ex) and "Irish Tour '74" (2659 031, Ex+/Ex). The compilations titles are "Rory Gallagher" (2384 066, Ex/Ex) and "The Story Of..." (2664 337, Ex+/VG+, German issue). All in all, this is a great lot in fine condition that showcases Rory's talent
RORY GALLAGHER AND ASSOCIATED: US RELEASES AND PROMOS - This fantastic selection of US releases from Rory Gallagher and his band Taste also contains three rare promo records. With studio releases combined with live recordings the Northern Irishman shows off his full array of guitar talent. Apart from the reissue of "Deuce" (CHR 1254, Ex+/Ex) all the records are original issues. The promos are a white-label copy of "Rory Gallagher" (SD 33-368, Ex/VG+), a white-label copy of "Blueprint" (PD 5522, Ex+/Ex) and a rare version of "Irish Tour '74" (PD2-9501, Ex+/VG+). The remaining three albums are "Blueprint" (PD 5522, Ex/Ex), "Live!" (PD 5513, Ex/Ex) and Taste's "Taste" (SD 33-269, Ex/Ex).

Palmer Schoppe (American/California, 1912-2001, act. Charleston, SC, 1934) , "Guitar and Bass", acrylic on paper, signed lower right, titled, "Charleston Renaissance Gallery" and artist's address labels en verso, 30 in. x 22 in., framed . Provenance: Charleston Renaissance Gallery, Charleston, SC. Note: While studying in New York City with Thomas Hart Benton, Palmer Schoppe became fascinated with Depression Era jazz and the Harlem art scene. This love of music and his interest in incorporating elements of jazz into his paintings stayed with the artist throughout his career. After completing his art education at the Yale School of Fine Arts and The Art Students League of New York, Schoppe returned to California, where he had lived during his childhood; on his way home, he made stops in South Carolina and Louisiana. Based on his experiences in the South Carolina Low Country, the Gullah community and New Orleans, Schoppe then created a collection of paintings, drawings, and prints that reflected jazz, rhythm, and blues themes, such as the painting offered here, “Guitar and Base.”
