KEVIN AYRES/ SYD BARRETT - RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE 10" ACETATE. Here we have a superb 10" single-sided acetate offering from Kevin Ayres. Titled 'Religious Experience' on the label, it is in fact an early working title for what would later become 'Sing A Song In The Morning', which featured on Kevin Ayers And The Whole Worlds 1970 debut album Shooting At The Moon. This is an early demo version, not the commercially released one, dated 4.12.69 on the labels and credited to producer Mr Peter Jenner. This mix is rumoured to have Syd Barrett featuring on guitar as well as a backing vocal. The EMI Disc label states it's a stereo mix and to be played at 45rpm. The lacquer playing surface is lovely and glossy VG+ with only one or two light surface marks.
7" ACETATES - MAINLY 60s - POP/BEAT/ROCK/SOUL - LARGELY UNRELEASED/UNKNOWN ARTISTS. Another one-off selection of 14 x 7" acetate recordings. Largely in a Pop/Beat/Rock and Soul style, we believe the majority of the recordings are from the 60s and are largely commercially unreleased. Titles/artists (where known) include Unknown - Empty Nights Are 'Bout To Do Me In c/w Bootleg (wicked Soul/R&B winner with a massive Funk instrumental on the flip - please note the record skips though the majority of both sides can be enjoyed), Unknown - 'B Side' (cool ballad/Pop style with a twangy guitar solo! ), Unknown - 'Matters To Me' (solo male acoustic style, cool DIY amateur sound, blank labels, double-sided), Mike Sarne & Wendy Richard - Come Outside (blank labels), Unknown - Freckles (a cover of the Larry Vincent penned track, with a distinctive deep male vocal), 'Can You Feel It' (Emidisc, 'stadium rock' style!), 'Reflections' (Emidisc, 60s acoustic Pop/Beat style group), Rights Of War - You've Got A Hold On Someone (Grosvenor 7173, 60s Pop style with male vocal), Don't Let A Little Pride Stand In Your Way (unknown male vocal covering the classic Billy Fury track, Regent Sound) and Steve Colyer - Give Her All She Wants (Emidisc). Please note that the acetates are typically in Fair/Good condition though the majority of the recordings can still be enjoyed, though with surface noise and sometimes skips. Audio samples are available on our Youtube channel and more are available on request.
