Pair of Early 19th Century Grodnertal Style Carved Wooden Dolls, with black painted hair, curls to the face, carved noses, painted eyes and mouth, standing on matching brown leaf printed paper mounted bases, of two sizes comprising; a lady in a cream silk dress with stomacher, black printed triangles to the hem, carrying a blue card guitar with strings, 11.5cm; a matching gentleman with moustache in cream and blue silk outfit comprising a blue doublet with trim, cream silk short breeches, stockings, blue garters and leather shoes, handwritten label to back of the base 'Andalusian' 15cm high (2). Lady - top of her head is missing. horizontal cracks to the face and back of the neck, dress shows a lot of wear to front back and sleeves. Scuffing to the base and guitar. Gent - nose scuffed and paint missing. Crazing and paint flakes to the face and hair. Wear to one elbow of his suit, otherwise mainly discolouration. Small holes and scuffing to the base.
An early 20th Century acoustic guitar in the L3 form, the headstock with mother of pearl inlaid Gibson lettering over a 19 fret fingerboard to a sunburst body, elevated tailpiece. The reverse of headstock is stamped ''Made in the USA'' with a serial number 1863 (the 6 has been hand-etched into the headstock whereas the 1,8 & 3 are stamped). The sound hole bears ''Made in USA by Gibson Inc. Kalamazoo, Mich.'' label which is pasted on.
