Huw Lloyd-Langton - 1977 Ovation 1613-4 nylon string electro-acoustic guitar, made in USA, ser. no. 096827; Back and sides: synthetic bowl back; Table: natural, minor blemishes; Fretboard: ebony; Frets: good; Case: original hard case bearing various tour passes; Overall condition: good *One of Huw's hobbies was learning to read and write classical music. At home he practised with his Levin, but while in USA with Widowmaker in 1977, he missed his guitar on his days off and purchased this Ovation. At home and on tour this was the guitar that Huw practised scales on. The Aeolian scale was one his favourites can be heard on the Hawkwind 'Levitation' album. Huw's playing on this album was reviewed as neo-classical, both harmonic and melodic. He always put that down to continued practising of scales

Huw Lloyd-Langton - 1968 Levin LTS-4 twelve string acoustic guitar, made in Sweden, ser. no. 490381; Back and sides: maple, lacquer checking and other blemishes; Table: heavy play wear, lacquer checking, various pin holes; Fretboard: rosewood; Frets: indent wear to first position; Case: hard case; Overall condition: fair *Purchased in 1971, this is the first guitar Huw bought after leaving Hawkwind 'for the first time' in 1970. Gigs were few and far between in the early '70s but he had been offered a seven night acoustic spot in Pastures vegetarian restaurant in Westbourne Grove. Huw needed an acoustic guitar for this gig and his mother, who dabbled in antiques, gave him a gold sovereign to sell in the West End. He went into various guitar shops and came back with the Levin, with which he did a straight swap for the gold sovereign. Although his mum was a bit cross, it was a guitar that became his bread and butter. Huw wrote most of his music on this guitar including some of the instrumental classical music on his last album 'Classical Guitar Tales'. Martin & Co. solid body prototype electric guitar from The Steve Howe Collection, made in USA, ser. no. 00011, within original hard case (electrics working although require attention to reconfigure to manufacturer stock) *Steve Howe swapped his Martin prototype guitar for a 1964 Rickenbacker model 1993 twelve string electric guitar in a direct trade. The guitar is accompanied with various letters of provenance between Steve Howe and the vendor throughout late 2016. This documentation includes: - A letter from and signed by Steve Howe stating that this Martin prototype guitar ser. no. 00011 was part of his collection for approximately twenty years - A letter to the vendor from Mr Howe requesting his contact details - Various letters between the vendor and Mr Howe confirming that this guitar is one of the fifteen prototypes made by Martin that were sent to the world's top guitarists for review - A letter confirming the guitar as the one directly swapped for the twelve string Rickenbacker that features in Steve Howe's guitar collection book - A hardback copy of The Steve Howe Collection, where the vendor's old guitar features on pages 84-85. Rod Stewart - guitar capo owned by Rod Stewart from his teenage years, within a presentation frame * Obtained by the vendor from Gary Leport, who played guitar with Rod in the early days. Sold with a signed document from Gary Leport stating 'In the early '60s, I had occasion to lend Rod Stewart a guitar case, as he had purchased a flat top acoustic guitar from Ivor Mairants shop, but without a case. After some time, as I needed the case, it was returned to me. The case was then put away, as I did not use it after all. At this later stage, I found Rod's capo in the case. I remember him using it, in the back yard of his home in Archway Road which was a tobacconist's shop, now no longer in existence.
