Prince 'The Kid' motorcycle jacket made for Purple Rain (1984) This iconic jacket was production made for the memorable sequences while Prince was shopping for a guitar at night and riding his motorcycle the following day with Appolonia. The jacket is black corduroy with white painted pattern, padded shoulders, oversize collar, button down lapels and epaulets, pronounced black leather cuffs with dark mother of pearl buttons. Interior 'Cats Pyjamas Venice, California' label with black satin like interior lining. Provenance: This jacket was given to the vendor by a friend who worked on the hair and make up in the film Purple Rain. It was given away at the end of filming. The vendor has spoken to the tailor who confirmed it was made for the film in small numbers, around 10 and we believe this jacket was used as a backup or for a double in movie sequences.
