A hand built Seagull Minestrel acoustic guitar made of cherrywood. Serial number 0732. These beautiful guitars were originally handcrafted in Quebec, Canada between 1978 and 1982 by Robert Godin. Godin was a partner with Norman Boucher from 1970 to 1978. In 1978 Godin broke away and started his own guitar company LaSiDo and began building Minestrel guitars similar to this one. In 1982 Godin acquired Norman Guitars, discontinued the Minestrel and launched the very similar Seagull line.
A rare and collectable 1968/9 Gibson Les Paul Custom guitar in black. This guitar featured on various Rubettes recordings including 'Juke Box Jive', 'I Can Do It', 'You're The Reason Why', 'Allez Oop' and various other album tracks. The body has been weight relieved by Gibson luthier Eddie Jones and is all original apart from this modification. Recently serviced by Robbie Gladwell of Dr Robert's guitar surgery. Comes with a Gibson hard carry case.
A rare and collectable 1964/65 Gibson ES345 guitar in resprayed white (original colour unkown). Purchased by Alan in 1975 this guitar has a holly headstock veneer, a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, patent numbered pickups, ABR-1 with nylon saddle inserts, single ring Kluson heads and gold plated fittings. Has a minor crack in neck. Recently serviced by Robbie Gladwell of Dr Robert's guitar surgery.
A rare and collectable circa 1975 Dick Knight Les Paul Junior Custom Sunburst guitar. This double cutaway guitar features a two humbucking and a single coil telecaster bridge pickup combination with pearl inlays in a maple fingerboard. Commissioned and built to Alan's personal design and specifications this guitar is a unique example and therefore the only one of it's kind in existence. It was commissioned and purchased by Alan from London guitar maker Dick Knight in 1975 and featured on various Rubettes album tracks. Supplied with a hard carry case.
A matching pair of extremely rare 1977 Zemaitis acoustic guitars comprising a six string and a twelve string version. These are the only existing pair of these and as hand built guitars are incredibly sought after. These guitars were purchased by Alan in 1977 from world renowned guitar maker Tony Zemaitis and were originally commissioned for Glen Campbell in 1976 but never completed for him. This matching pair were finally finished and delivered with Alan's personal inscriptions in 1977. All parts are original and both guitars are signed by Tony Zemaitis. They featured on The Rubettes recordings of 'Baby I Know', 'Come On Over', 'Moving', 'Kid Runaway' and various other album tracks. Both supplied with hard carry cases.
A circa 1968 Vox AC30 top boost guitar amplifier, serial number 7505D1630. This amp was purchased from new by Alan in 1968 and is the personal amplifier of choice for Alan on stage and in the studio. This particular amplifier was used in the studio on virtually all Rubettes recordings throughout the 1970s and on stage with Alan on all tours and concert appearances during that period. All original but for centre air vent replacement but retaining original Celestial Alnico speakers and comes with Vox plastic cover and flight case. Recently serviced by Robbie Gladwell of Dr Robert's guitar surgery and in excellent working condition for that great 'I can do it' sound!
