A GEORGE III OAK LONGCASE CLOCK the brass break-arched dial signed on the silvered chapter ring John Bates ATHER/STONE, with subsidiary seconds dial, date sector and dolphin spandrels, a silvered disc to the arch, having eight day movement in crossbanded and line inlaid case with brass-mounted swan neck pediment, turned fruitwood pillars and fluted pilasters, on bracket feet, 226cm h 1919 Inventory: (Hall) (probably) "8 day Oak inlaid long case Clock with brass dial". The lacquer on the dial degraded the movement original to the dial and probably to the case but in need of overhauling, the case repolished, minor shrinkage crack and small veneer loss around the base
A late 19th Century mahogany cased bracket clock by John Perry of Nottingham, the three train movement peeling on eight bells and striking on five gongs, the arched brass dial having foliate decoration with silvered Roman chapter ring and three subsidiary dials (chime/silent, slow/fast, Westminster chimes/chimes on eight bells), the case having scrolled arch with pediment with acorn finial, reeded pilasters fretwork sound frets on a plinth base.
A Fine Late 16th/Early 17th Century Carved Oak Court Cupboard of modest proportions. The top having a dentil moulded under-edge above a guilloche frieze raised on bulbous cup & cover supports flanking a recessed cupboard. The posts carved with stylised foliage and having gadrooned covers surmounted by scroll capitals. The cupboard having a central door with a recessed panel inlaid with a chequer-banded diamond below a guilloche arch contained in a deep foliate carved frame. The canted sides with similar decoration. The lower section having a long guilloche carved frieze drawer raised on bulbous posts echoing the top, with stile supports to the rear leading down to a base shelf above a rail of undulating foliage. 43¾ ins (111 cms) in height, 45 ins (114 cms) wide, 15 ins (39 cms) deep.* ]
A Fine 18th Century Walnut Lowboy. The quarter veneered top having herringbone & cross-banded borders with a moulded edge above a shaped arch apron incorporating one short and two deep drawers divided by applied double mouldings. The shape enhanced by a raised edge forming an inverted point to the hips of the cabriole legs; terminating on pointed pad feet. 28½ ins (72 cms) in height, 33 ins (84 cms) in width, 18½ ins (47 cms) in depth. ]

The crested top rail pierced & carved with an arch of C-scrolls and plumes of foliage above a long caned back panel, flanked by fluted & stop-reeded tapering columns leading down to the caned seat. The conforming front rail uniting two S-scroll legs with a curved X-form under-stretcher centred by a ball finial. ]
An Imposing 17th Century Italian Ebonised & Inscribed Bone Cabinet on Stand. The deeply moulded cornice above three frieze drawers. The architectural front with a central portico and Corinthian columns incorporating a door opening to reveal a carved & domed arch drawer above two multi faceted tortoiseshell inlaid concave drawers. The surrounding drawers with pen-worked bone plaques depicting figural narrative scenes bordering the shell-decorated arched niches composed of recessed panelled sliding drawers and compartments. The sides having marquetry panels of interlinked lozenges and heart corners. The later stand having a long frieze drawer of moulded panels with bone stringing, and raised on bold tapered block legs 70 ins (178 cms) in height, 52 ins (132 cms) in width, 19 ins (48 cms) in depth. ]

An early 19th century oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock, with swans neck pediment above the arched glazed door enclosing the painted dial with Roman numerals, painted spandrels and village scene to arch, with thirty-hour movement, flanked by turned columns, with crossbanded trunk door beneath with flat pilaster and conforming base. A fine Guernsey Regency mahogany secretaire bookcase the flared moulded pediment inlaid with a variety of contrasting bandings, centred with an oval roundel depicting a lion holding a Union Jack shield, over cross banded doors with thirteen pane astragal glazing with boxwood strung glazing bars, enclosing three adjustable shelves with boxwood strung veneered edging, the base with rosewood edge banding to the top and a deep secretaire drawer inlaid with a large oval in flame mahogany with rosewood cross banding, ivory escutcheon and the original gilt brass handles, the interior with later green baize writing surface and a fine fitted interior with an arrangement of eleven drawers and eight pigeonholes, veneered in rosewood with boxwood and ebony edge banding and turned ivory handles, surrounding a central compartment with architectural veneers depicting an arched doorway flanked by pillars and larger columns concealing upright secret compartments, above a tiled floor, the arch inlaid with the Eye of Providence, the rosewood door inlaid with a fleur-de-lys patera, opening to reveal a deep mahogany veneered drawer which, when removed, allows the whole central compartment to be withdrawn, revealing two secret drawers to the reverse and a handwritten inscription in ink to the top of the compartment within a heart, "Made & Sold by Nicholas Lihou to Capt. Cohu, Guernsey, Sepr. 13 1813", with "THOMAS COHU" handwritten beneath in later ink, the base with roundel veneered doors with rosewood cross banding, enclosing three veneered slides with feather edge banding, on outswept feet, 43.75in (111cm) wide x 90.25in (229cm) high x 22.75in (58cm) deep.
An antique carved oak settle late-17th century and later, with triple moulded arch panelled back divided by foliate scroll carved stiles which are headed by sea serpent and green man carving, the central panel with a carved figure of a King, flanked by sunflower carved panels, over a panelled seat and shaped arms on turned supports, within a chip carved seat rail, on tapering outswept supports, 54in (137cm) wide x 43in (109cm) high.
An early 19th century Scottish longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the engraved brass dial signed to arch `Robt. Townsend Grienock`, with silvered Roman Numeral chapter ring with outer seconds, subsidiary seconds and calendar aperture and gilt brass spandrels, the hood with castellated peaked pediment, arched cross banded door and pierced oval sides, the trunk with canted corners and cross banded moulded door, on a plain base, 85.5in (217cm) high, movement a/f and requires reassembly.

AN OAK “YEOMANS” BED with raised headboard with a central turned finial above arch topped panels and square section uprights with conforming finials, with panelled side rails and footboard, basically 17th century, 51” wide.. Provenance: Purchased in 1952 at the Eleven Day Sale of the Contents of Coldbrook Park, Abergavenny by direction of the Trustees of the Late Lady Helen Herbert. The Park first appears as the seat of Sir Richard Herbert in the reign of Henry VI. Colonel Henry Herbert of Coldbrook was rewarded by Cromwell with the contents of Raglan Castle. It is conceivable that this bed was part of those contents. The bed was gifted to the vendor in 1986.

Four enamel plaques, probably Limoges late 19th century, comprising: two similar rectangular, painted in colours with the portrait of a Renaissance young man and of a Roman soldier, within ovals, the black borders with gilt and raised white scroll spandrels, 19.5cm (7.75in) x 15cm (6in) and 19.5cm (7.75in) x 15.5cm (6.25in); one smaller rectangular, painted in black and white with gilt highlights with the Holy Family under a Romanesque arch, 13.5cm (5.25in) x 11.5cm (4.5in); and one arch top, painted in black and white with gilt highlights with the Ascension, 15cm (6in) x 9.7cm (3.75in)
