An early 18th Century walnut apprentice glazed bookcase on bureau, arch shaped cornice with a foliate carved centre, above a glazed three shelved bookcase, on a glazed fall front bureau enclosing with an arrangements of brass mounted drawers and pigeonholes, raised on a glazed base with an arrangements of drawers. 100cm H x 50cm W x 27cm DCondition Report:Good condition, the mercury from mirror was removed of the initial glass, later wooden panels fitted to the side. Signs of splits and restoration to the moulding base.
John Smith & Son, Derby, a Victorian mahogany tavern style or railway timepiece, John Smith & Son, Market Place, Derby; where the firm operated a high street retail shop in the late 1800s. The clock is mahogany-cased with a carved pediment & ‘ears’ and a glazed door. It has a 12” round painted dial, high quality, 8 day, weight-driven, timepiece movement with unusual, side-pulley line to carry the weight and a seconds-beat, ebonised rod pendulum. 153cm HCondition Report: Generally good condition, signs of scratches and wear to the dial, signs of loss to part of the arch moulding.

A STONE SET AND ENAMEL RENAISSANCE STYLE PENDANT the renaissance style jewel in the style of nineteenth century goldsmiths Guiliano, comprising central light green emerald, with arch above containing small old cut rubies and two further small emeralds, black, blue and green enamels with white ermine enamel scrolls with three small drops, the reverse of yellow gold with worn marks, measuring approx. 5cm long x 3cm wide, gross weight approx. 12.9 grams. A Georgian oak longcase clock by Samuel Lister of Halifax, the brass break arch dial with rococo shell and sea serpent spandrels, silvered chaptering bearing Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, two train eight day movement with bell strike, the case with broken arch pediment and fluted pilasters, plain trunk door, and base, on a reduced plinth, with weights and pendulum, 220cm high.
An oak long case clock, 18thC and later, the brass break arch dial with Tempus Fugit globe, and cherub's head spandrels, dial bearing Roman numerals, two train movement, the case with swan neck pediment and hood with brass capped oblong pilasters, trunk of plain form, raised on a plinth base, with weights and pendulum, 227cm high.
19TH CENTURY FLORENTINE SCHOOL "Angel Musicians" one playing drum, one a violin and another a harp within a Gothic arch Triptych frame (after the originals of the Linaioli Tabernacle by Fra Angelico circa 1433) 103.5 cm wide x 99 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Whilst bascially sound, there are signs of wear and tear conducive with age throughout. The centre finial has been glued in an amateur way with signs of the glue dribbling down from the break. The arches all have vertical splits - see images. There are several areas of gilding loss throughout, particularly to the edging. The gilding to the main panels appears worn which may or may not be part of the original design to simulate age. See images for further detail. These are painted not lithographs. A typical Florentine grand tour piece.
A late 18th Century oak cased long case clock of small proportions, the thirty hour movement with brass arch dial, the silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals enclosing inscription "John Higgs, Wallingford" 192 cm high x 48 cm wide max CONDITION REPORTS Size of dial is 28.5 cm long x 20.5 cm wide. The oval top appears to have been a later addition with rivets. Slightly bent. Has verdigris etc. Case has losses in various places throughout including to the roundel on the front. Woodworm throughout. Various splits, knocks, etc. Glass missing from one side of the hood. Pendulum present but no weights.
An 18th Century oak cased long case clock, the eight day movement with enamelled and painted arch dial, sun and moon phase, above a painted chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals enclosing a subsidiary seconds dial and painted scene of shepherdess seated, a crook in her left hand and various sheep at her feet, inscribed "Prideaux, Coalbrookdale" within floral painted spandrels, the main trunk with shell marquetry inlaid medallion flanked by quarter cut fluted side pilasters, raised on a cross-banded base, 55 cm wide max, 240 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The piece has some areas of damage conducive with age and use to the case with areas of splitting and repair in several areas (see images for detail). The face has some chipping to the enamel, particularly to the edges. The movement appears to be intact and reasonably clean suggesting that it has been looked after certainly in the past though unknown if in working order (see image). The base of the case has signs of old woodworm and splitting to the centre panel. There are signs of splitting and damage to the canted side pilasters. Please see images for further detail of this wear/damage. Please note the height 240 cm is already mentioned in the catalogue description.

An early 19thC oak mahogany and rosewood cross banded long case clock, the break arch dial painted with a girl and dog in a landscape, cottages and ruins, dial bearing Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, eight day movement with bell strike, bell lacking, the hood with break arch pediment and baluster turned pilasters, trunk door inlaid with a galloping horse and flowers, flanked by baluster turned pilasters, the base inlaid with an exotic bird, raised on bracket feet, with pendulum and weights, with key, 221cm high.
Himalayan Art A pair of stirrups Tibet, 12th-14th century . . Cm 12,50 x 15,70. Rare and significant pair of Tibetan or Mongolian stirrups (yob) made of finely chiselled iron and featuring precious silver and gold coating. Note the refined workmanship of the fretwork featuring golden dragons intertwining in a hypnotic pattern. 300-400 AD. Late Roman. An excellent bronze crossbow brooch, with three onion-like knobs, an arched bow, ribbed lower end and surviving pin. Some signs of possible gilding are still on the knobs and on the arch. Crossbow brooches, used for fastening cloaks were an international late Roman type, and were often worn by men in positions of authority, in the military or civil bureaucracy. A famous ivory diptych, now Monza, Italy, depicts Stilicho, the head of the Western Roman military under the Emperor Honorius in the years around 400 AD, along with his wife, Serena, and son, Eucherios. Both Stilicho and Eucherios wear crossbow brooches to fasten the cloaks on their right shoulders, indicating the importance of this type of dress accessory for those in positions of authority. This beautiful item may have belonged to a Roman military officer or another important official. Excellent condition. Bartlett recorded as a watchmaker working in Maidstone 1821-1855.
