This attractive map of London was published to raise finds for Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital. Stretching from Marble Arch to Aldgate and from St. Pancras to the Elephant & Castle the map is decorated with pictorial images of London folklore and with quotations from authors as various as Rudyard Kipling, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Cowper. An 18th Century green japanned chinoiserie decorated long case clock, decorated with figures and warrior on horseback with pagoda, prunus trees, birds and floral scrolls, the arched hood with glazed door flanked by turned pilasters over an arched trunk panelled door to a flat fronted and plinth base, the arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals within mask head and pierced scrolling spandrels to a matted centre with subsidiary seconds and date aperture to an arch with silvered boss inscribed "Samuel Smith, Richmond" to an eight day striking movement on a bell, 225 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The case has been re-japanned in the late 19th / early 20th century. Overall with wear and scuffs, quite a lot of cracks and chips to decoration, some separating at joins to the carcass of the case and some repairs and inserted sections, various chips and losses, case does not stand quite vertical and leans slightly to one side, hood also with various chips and old repairs, etc. plus cracks to top of arch, decoration to case also with various chips and touch-up paint, etc., brass face with small hand and fitments missing, damage/section broken off to one corner (lower right), various tarnish, scratches, etc.

Japanese black lacquered Zushi shrine, probably late Edo period, the carved giltwood figure depicting one of the Four Heavenly Kings or Shitenno standing atop the Black Turtle, hands clasped before him and with a double halo, the black lacquered case with arch shaped top and engraved mounts, the interior of the double hinged doors with painted decoration depicting four deities on a gilded ground, overall height 51cm The pediment is missing from the top of the case, the case is generally in good order with just minor wear, the figures feet are virtually disconnected from the turtle and it will need re-fixing properly, we would suggest that the figure originally had his hands clasped over the hilt of a sword and that the sword would have terminated on top of the serpent, however this sword is missing, gilding on figure and case is generally good but with some staining and rubbing - General condition consistent with age **
19th Century `Grand Tour` engraved and embossed brass and micro mosaic inkwell decorated with hounds in a landscape and inset with carnelian and malachite cabochons, the hinged cover inset with a micro-mosaic and lapis lazuli panel depicting The Arch of Septimuis Severus, 12cm wide Blue border to micro mosaic has four hairline cracks running from the edges to the mosaic. The underside is open which would suggest there may well have been a base at some point - General condition consistent with age **
