A German Second War Blood Order Medal Citation Group. An excellent quality 2nd model Blood Order, which retains all its original both light and grey patinated finish. Individually awarded number 3218. 800 silver stamped right at the base of the award. A tiny dye flaw is common to all of the late awarded Blood Orders, a minute dot to the lower field within the right hand side arch of the Feldherrenhalle, to the left of the statues head can be seen with a magnifying glass. Complete with its correct white, red and black watered silk ribbon, the medal is accompanied by its ultra rare formal presentation award certificate, which is extremely elaborate in its red leather folder with a gilded impression of the Third Reich eagle and swastika to the outside of the folder. The beautiful citation has raised impressions of both sides of the Blood Order either side of the central rectangular section, excellent condition £3,000-£4,000 --- Awarded to Ferdinand Moser on 31 May 1940, the number of the Blood Order 3218 coincides with the year date 1940.

A fine George III longcase 8 day movement with anchor escapement and brass arched dial by John Baddely / Baddeley of Albrighton, who built the clock for the church in Tong, Shropshire. Face with silvered chapter ring, date wheel and separate seconds dial and striking on a bell. Movement screwed to possibly original saddle board. Dimensions of face approx 308mm wide, 440mm to top of arch. Baddely also specialised in making barometers and optics, and was noted for inventing a new type of refraction telescope. He died in 1804. £100-150

A fine and modern solid oak-cased eight-day longcase clock; the broken arch dial with moon phase mechanism and subsidiary hands below the 12 o'clock position, the polished brass engraved dial with silvered chapter ring and ornate pierced spandrels, glazed and shaped trunk door, with large pendulum, three weights and key, the eight-day movement with Westminster chime and striking on gongs, the lower case with arched top fielded panel door, raised on canted plinth base (204cm high)The item is in very good overall condition with no major problems noted, no splits, damage or restoration; the item is noted to be extremely heavy and is taken to be solid oak with nice quality medullary rays showing; the glass and face are good, and it comes with three weights, a winder and a pendulum engraved with a city scene; overall in the Auctioneer's opinion the clock is in as new condition and would extremely expensive to purchase originally. The clock is noted to strike on several gongs and it looks as though the access to the movement is through the back panel taking several screws off to achieve this, so therefore the movement is not viewable although in the Auctioneer's opinion it must be a movement of quality (possibly German made). Note also that the three weights are a brass covered and the brass is also engraved. We have not set the clock up for running but it has come from a good private source and the item was working within the house; there shouldn't be any reason to think it wouldn't work now.
