dating: 19th Century provenance: India, Iron spheroid head, richly decorated with remains of silver inlaying with racemes, provided with a long square cusp at the top and with a row of sharp cusps at the centre. At both sides of the globe is a raised hilt with festooned rim and inlaid en suite. Iron, cylindrical shaft provided with a lantern-shaped knot at the top. The handle is bounded by a thick spheroid knot and by the pommel. height 69,5 cm.

A Victorian hexagonal brass and copper oil burning ship's lantern, third quarter 19th century, the glass panels with lead and brass frames encircled by three copper rods, with brass plaque CLIPPER SHIP LAMP, NO. 1255, DUMBARTON SCOTLAND,1869, with hanging chain, 60cm highProvenance: Property from the estate of the late David Cornwell, best known as the author John le Carré.Condition Report: The upper rim of the cupola is bent in one place. The cupola has two cracks to the brass. The burner can be removed by twisting from below, the wick dispenser can be turned but with some resistance. The mirrored lead framed panels to the upper interior appear to be warped or out of alignment and may need adjusting or fixing. The brass, copper, and lead are all tarnished and have signs of verdigris as well as white paint marks and general surface dirt and wear. The glass panels are intact, with light marks, scratches, and surface dirt. A hanging chain and ceiling light fitting are present with the lamp.

A Charles II style brass lantern form mantel clock, the 18cm dial applied with Roman numerals enclosing the two train movement striking on the 10cm overhead saucer bell, upon ball feet, 40cm high, lacking pendulum and key

A 19th century brass lantern clock, with two train fusee movement and complete with key and pendulum. Height 39 cm, dial diameter 18 cm, depth 16 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The movement winds on both trains and strikes when manually advanced. It does not however seem to be ticking away. We have the pendulum and the key. The case appears to be complete with no losses. We cannot see the movement as the back plate fills the case aperture.
