An early 20th century Chinese hexagonal carved hardwood lantern with open fret cresting, reverse painted glass panels and ornamented with dragon mask and ruyi branch terminals, 60cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Complete. Glass panels all intact. Some pins missing causing some panels to be loose but hold together well when all are in. One dragon head detached, all other finals and fret items in good order.

A FINE QUALITY CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN SAUCER DISH, the interior centre well painted with a scene of two ladies resting on a rug beside a hanging lantern, the interior rim with floral vignettes reserved on a trellis ground, the base with a four-character Yongzheng mark in blue enamel, 6in diameter.
Good English brass original verge hook and spike lantern clock, the 6.75" brass dial signed E. Webb, Bourton enclosing a foliate engraved centre, surmounted by a pierced lion and unicorn front fret engraved with the initials G.I.A. on a central shield, with pierced side foliate frets, five turned finials, strapwork, bell and finial, 15.75" high (lead weight and pendulum) *This lantern clock is illustrated in Time & Place, English Country Clocks 1600-1840, an exhibition by The Antiquarian Horological Society at the Museum of the History of Science, University of Oxford, 25th November 2006-15th April 2007, published by The Antiquarian Horological Society (see pages 96-99). A copy of this book is also included in the lot, complete with the official token of thanks for loaning the clock to the exhibition. This maker is also mentioned in A.J. Moore - The Clockmakers of Somerset, 1650-1900 (see page 284)
