Together with a good collection of glass plates for stereo viewer and negatives for the plates. Three well filled wooden boxes of stereo viewer slides, mostly depicting a continental holiday circa 1920. Each box holds 50 slides. Subjects include: mountain passes, the Matterhorn, mountain hiking with guide, some charming family images with children. A further 19 small cardboard boxes of slides, mostly negatives but four boxes marked positives. The boxes with labels: Wellington S.C.P Lantern Plate. Subjects include AHB de Saussure statue in Chamonix, an elephant ride in a zoo, family group scenes, three slides have been coloured.
An Edwardian Magic Lantern in Tin Carry Case:Together with numerous plates to include "cross India" with a Kodak 1915-1919. Numerous views of India to include temples, bridges, natives, military, Taj Mahal etc. One plate including a letter which reads "To members of our club and other friends i wish to thank you one and all for your kind attention and appreciation of the pictures and chats of India. To see much is to learn much - and i trust that this has been the case with you all, if so, the pleasure is mine. Sincerley yours H.Mitchell 11.2.1925"
An Interesting Third Quarter of the 17th Century Lantern Clock:Edmund Smith, Bury (St Edmunds) From London, N 1011, the strapped bell over four finials and three pierced frets (the front one engraved and crosshatched) over a Roman chapter ring, half-hour marks and inner quarter hour track, with single hand, the centre signed in the upper half above scrolling decoration below, the weight driven movement with anchor escapement and countwheel strike on a bell, 37 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: Bell to top complete but not attached. Complete movement, needs assembly, to top and bracket
Brass faced alarm wall clock marked: Whitehurst and Son of Derby, together with a small 17th Century style lantern clock with electric movement. 16cm diameter and 26cm high. (2) (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Whitehurst clock - Two weights present but no pendulum. No number evident. Surface wear and dings as expected. Not running. Movement appears complete (see images). Other clock has wear and tear, with later electric movement (not working).
