Two 19th century Chinese novelty white metal and champlevé enamelled procession items, both with detailed mixed colourways, one shaped as a fan with filigree back and insect decorated front, the other hexagonal parasol shaped with tassels underneath, both on detachable four stilted stands, lantern shaped approx. 17cm high, other approx. 17.2cm high. (2) Further details: lantern shaped one has missing tassels and applied wire design, misshapen areas and loss to enamels to both in parts, tarnishing to both, surface wear / scratching etc. Provenance: From the Henry Lardner Dennys estate, signed treaty of Hong Kong.
A BRASS LANTERN CLOCKIn the 17th Century style, circa 1950Of usual form, surmounted by a turned finial above the bell, with pierced crestings above the silvered chapter ring and foliate-engraved centre, the twin train spring barrel movement, numbered to the backplate 918, striking the hours and halves, with anchor escapement38cm highCONDITION REPORTWith short pendulum. The clock has been cleaned at some point and there is some staining to the brass work. The strike is missing the simple linking piece to the upper shaft of the bell hammer to the movement. It would benefit from a clean and the chapter ring re-silvering.
A First World War British 1908 Pattern Webbing Haversack, with belt, braces, frog and double ammunition pouch, stencilled M.W.& S.Ltd, 1915, broad arrow, 3.R.I.E., with brass open buckles and sliders; a First World War Trench Lantern, of four folding tinplate panels each set with two clear glass windows (one missing), set with a brass plaque embossed "USE ½ CANDLES ONLY" and another with maker's name "FOUNTAYNE L & E. CO.LTD.", the whole folding flat to fit into a tin case; a First World War Front Line Cooking Stand, of a steel double hook, with three rods attached; two Water Canteens, one in leather covered brass, the other in copper (5)Webbing haversack in soiled condition, one strap missing a large triangular patch, the brass fittings oxidised.

MATSUMOTO HOZAN (active circa 1900) Meiji (1868-1912) or Taisho (1912-1926) era, late 19th/early 20th century The tall lantern shape vase decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt with three alternating with scenes of crowds near the Fuji Mountain, landscape, and peacock with flowers, under the ground with brocade and leave pattern. Signed on the underside Dai Nihon Matsumoto Hozan beneath the mark of the Shimazu family and the Yasuda company mark. H.28.8cm
A PATINATED METAL HALL LANTERN LATE 20TH CENTURY Of tubular tapering form the lantern alone approximately 72cm high Provenance: Private Collection, London Condition Report: ELECTRICAL GOODS. With relatively minor wear, marks, knocks and scratches as per modern age, handling, use, and cleaning. One base panel with small corner chip- chain approximately 30-40cm long . Kiers fect/1850', oil on panel 40 x 32cm Condition ReportOverall: 62 x 55cm The painting is executed in oil on a wooden panel. The panel is in plane. Fine craquelure in places however paint layers are in an excellent condition overall. There is a thick varnish layer present which has yellowed with age and is a little uneven with matte patches and scuffs. A little rubbing to the edges but overall, presents well.
