An associated pair of Chinese hanging lantern table lamps, 20th century, both hardwood stands carved to resemble a dragons head from which the traditional square form lanterns hang, arching down from the head into a slender spine running into a circular base, the lanterns with shou character design to each side and fringe and tassel detail, 71.5cm and 67cm high respectively (2)

A late 19th Century brass lantern clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the back plate stamped `W & H Sch` (Winterhalder & Hofmeier), the circular dial with engraved floral centre, framed by a chapter ring with black Roman numerals, the case of typical form with turned finial and bell surmount above turned corner finials and pierced fretwork panels, on turned feet, height approx 39cm, with pendulum and bracket (some faults).
A collection of memorabilia relating to the Chance Brothers Glass Work Company of Smethwick, comprising an illuminated presentation manuscript awarded to Robert Lucas Chance of Somerfield House, Birmingham regarding his retirement (c.1860), height 70cm, width 49cm, framed and glazed, two oil on canvas portraits of Robert Lucas Chance (1782-1865), smaller 75x61cm, larger 105x80cm, both framed with dedication plaques, a coloured print of the Glass Works of Messrs Chance Brothers & Company near Birmingham c.1850, 43x85cm, framed and glazed, an estate map of Smethwick in the County of Stafford belonging to the Reverend Mr Simpson, showing the Birmingham canal, allocated plots and fields, surveyed August 1810 by John Kempson, 64x97cm, framed and glazed, a photograph of the tower and lantern for Flagstaff Point lighthouse, Wei-Hai-Wei, China, constructed by Chance Brothers & Co, Ltd Birmingham, 54x43cm, framed and glazed, and an oil on canvas of a seated lady c.1850 (possibly a relative of the Chance family), height 128cm, width 102cm, unframed. This lot is accompanied by some research relating to Chance Brothers who were a major glass producers in the Birmingham area between 1821 and 1982.
