A bronze figurine of Pancha Ganesh seated on a rectangular dais with a serpent to each side, nimbus to the rear, five heads each with a tiered headdress, right hand raised in the gesture of reassurance, left hand holding a a symbol. 785 grams, 11.5cm (4 1/2"). Acquired on the London art market before 1995. Pancha Genesha is a Tantric form of the popular Hindu god who removes obstacles; the heads representing the five levels of consciousness that a devotee must go through to attain enlightenment.
