Seated on a bench offering her colorful silk fabrics and ribbons for sale from a woven basket, Silks and Ribbons is modeled on the traditional peddler lady, a familiar character from Victorian Londons fairgrounds. This Royal Doulton figurine of The Balloon Man makes a lovely addition to the balloon family and in particular sits well with the Old Balloon Seller HN 1315. He sits with a red spotted knapsack at his side, perhaps it contains his lunch. He holds a large bunch of brightly coloured balloons in his left hand.To this day the balloon figurines are still very collectible and are one of the most well known figurines associated with Royal Doulton.
