LATE 19TH CENTURY MEISSEN PORCELAIN FIGURINE EMBLEMATIC OF "DAY"formed as the allegory of Day, with pink billowing fabric, with a sunburst crown, holding a torch in one hand and yellow rosette in the other, atop a gilt base with a single stem of sunflowers with a seated blue bird, atop a half moon gilt rounded base, marked with blue underglaze factory mark, incised in paste L.134, iron-red overglaze numeral 3, stamped with numerals 121 under base; height: 49 cm (19 1/4 in.) CONDITION The figure appears in good condition. Very light surface dust, most notably to the interior crevasses and divots. With no apparent issues visible to the naked eye, with no significant issues to report otherwise. The gilt base has been repainted. Inspection under UV shows fluoresce; however, we know the figure was restored along the base but inspection under UV shows no sign and is not apparent to the naked eye. N.B. All lots are sold in as-is condition at the time of sale.
