From a South East London collection; formed 1995-2005. Figures such as this were made in north east Iran between 1000 and 1400 AD. They were used as incense burners and the Kufic script is often parables and popular sayings, along with the name of the person who commissioned the piece. 2.2 kg, 24.5cm (9 1/2").
