Es handelt sich hier wiederum um eine Bewegungsstudie, für die es zeichnerische Varianten gibt, in denen die Figuren etwas mehr nach der Natur gesehen werden, wenngleich auch hier das Prinzip des Konturs und der Transparenz der Körperform erhalten bleibt." A 20th century Chinese / Tibetan / Nepalese heavy bronze seated Buddha/Shakyamuni figurine. The figurine modelled with his right hand in Varada mudra, the left hand holding a bowl and resting on his lap, wearing robe, with extended earlobes, curled hair dress terminating in a flower-shaped ushnisha. Measures approx. 25cm x 17cm x 11cm.
A selection of 4 porcelain figures to include: 1 x Meissen figure of a young man perched against a tree stump Octagonal base with Greek key pattern Marked to the base with Meissen crossed swords and as No. 3 Height: 16cms Condition: - missing both hands - some wear to the gilding of the base 1 x female figurine of a young lady with a basket of flowers under one arm and holding a single flower in the other. Marks under the base are 65 and S. Possibly Thuringian in origin Height: 14.5cms Condition: good, but hairline crack to the top of the urn as shown in one of the photographs - no apparent restoration 1 x lady with plum coloured robe with two ewers at her feet and with a boiling pot. Height: 14.5cms Condition: minor wear to the hand painting on one sleeve 1 x lady carrying a lit torch in one hand and a bundle of wheat in the other. Urn full of flowers and a small dragon(?) at her feet. Maker is assumed to be the same as the second entry - possibly Thuringian in origin Height: c.15cms Condition: Good
