An unusual late 19th century carved oak Black Forest jewellery box modelled as a castle, the central section with hinged two panel lift-up door, above a single drawer, flanked by four fold-out pivot hinged drawers, height 25.5cm, width 35.5cm, depth 12.5cm (no key). CONDITION REPORT: The fitted central interior is missing carved elements to the upper corners, between the main drawer and fitted interior there is a small drawer but no handle so it is not possible to pull it out. One of the pivot hinged drawers has got some chips to the back edge. The silk lining of the drawers is at fault. Scratches to the back side of the lift-up central door. There are a few minor chips to the top of the castle and towers and there is no key.
A Chinese cloisonné enamel decorated circular bowl depicting two dragons chasing an orb, diameter 11cm, a further similar baluster vase, a Japanese cloisonné vase and jar with cover (both af), two Japanese metal jewellery boxes with embossed decoration to hinged lids, and a circular wooden box decorated with Mount Fuji to the detachable lid, diameter 14.5cm (7). CONDITION REPORT: The two Japanese cloisonné pieces have got damage to the surface and the vase has got the bottom missing, the other pieces have wear commensurate with age, the Chinese cloisonné bowl has some cracks and minor dents visible from the inside.
A George VI hallmarked silver bounded leather cricket ball engraved with presentation inscription "Presented to W. Williams to commemorate his taking 3 wickets with successful balls in the final of the ICI (Alkali) Cricket Knockout Competition on July 26th 1938", Walker & Hall, Sheffield 1938, and a silver jewellery box with tortoiseshell pique work decorated hinged lid, London 1913, diameter 7cm (af) (2). CONDITION REPORT: Rest of foot from piquet box not present.
