The poster shows images of a woman in ornate jewellery, a small boy in a striped shirt writing on a chalkboard, a woman holding a boy, a woman kneeling with a baby girl in a yellow dress, a girl rocking a baby in a swing surrounded by toys, and a man in an orange turban, white shirt and green waistcoat holding a young boy’s hand. The poster also features a box of Nirodh condoms, the inverted Red Triangle logo indicating family planning and contraception services, and red, black and green text on a yellow background with a white stripe down the centre. Nirodh is the first brand of condoms produced in India, and was introduced and subsidised by the Government in 1968 as part of a successful family planning and birth control campaign. ‘Nirodh’ means protection in Hindi.
