It is adorned with a shirt finished in 925 sterling silver and hand-turned with 24-carat yellow gold appliqués. The engraving, developed using jewellery techniques, reproduces a 16th-century map of the world, with the eastern and western hemispheres known at the time. The two-tone 18-karat gold nib is decorated with geometric motifs and a woman's face. It has a handmade ebonite feeder.
