Lady's yellow metal, diamond and blue enamel pendant watch with necklace, circa 1900, the white enamel Roman dial within blue enamel border set sixteen small diamonds, rear door set with a cluster of nine further diamonds in flowerhead formation with engraved foliage, largest stone approx 0.2ct, case back stamped 18K 1140, unmarked top-wound movement with trefoil suspender, 24mm diameter approx, pendent from blue enamel suspension loop, two matching cylindrical batons and four further diamonds, to a diamond brooch with ribbon surmount, heart motif of eleven graduated small diamonds framing a central stone of approx 0.8ct, beneath ribbon and between scroll banners, the whole approx 85mm drop, together with a matching unmarked yellow metal (probably 18k) and enamel chain having conforming blue and white enamel baton spacers and belcher links inbetween, the enamel trefoil pendant with central small diamond brilliant, lobster claw beneath, 40.1g gross approx, in box of Streeter & Co Ltd Court Jewellers Established 1870, 18 New Bond St, W Condition: Appears to be superb original order and no faults detected under a jewellery loupe. Lot 959
A 19th century specimen wood jewellery box, with musical movement. Width 19 cm, depth 13.5 cm, height 9 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The box is in generally good order with only minor defects. The top is of good colour with only very minor nibbles to the veneers. The rear left hand corner of the top has a veneer loss and there is a further loss at the base above the foot. The front left hand foot has a small veneer loss above. The hinges are in good order. The interior is a little tatty particularly below the top of the lid. The satin lining is dirty. The musical mechanism winds and does operate when the lid is opened. We have not removed the inner lining to actually physically inspect the movement.
Lot 990
A Victorian coromandel dressing table box with silver mounted fittings, with London hallmarks for 1860, Silversmiths Pittway Bros. (John and William), with flush front jewellery drawer and side drawer. There is a mirror recessed into the lid with stationery compartment behind. Width 31 cm, depth 23 cm, height 19 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The box is in extremely good condition. The coromandel is well figured and the veneers are in good condition all round with no significant fractures and no losses. The top shuts flush. The hinges are in very good order with no damage surrounding. Both drawers spring open as they should. The lock is present but we have no key. It is however unlocked and the lock is not self-locking. All silver topped jars are present and none are inscribed. the large rectangular vessel is in good order with no issues. The smaller rectangular box has one very minor corner chip and several very minor almost insignificant edge nibbles. The two small cylindrical jars are both in good order with no chips. The centre scent bottle has a crack running from the top threaded section all down one side. There is no movement and no loss. The same jar has some very minor edge nibbles. The right hand flanking cylindrical jar is in good order with no issues. The left hand one has several small bottom edge nibbles and two under edge small chips. The left hand scent bottle is complete with stopper and has no issues. The right hand scent bottle also has the stopper. The threaded neck rim has an upper edge chip which is completely covered by the lid. The accessories seem to be original as they fit the apertures. The button hook is slightly too long and the right hand side compartment with the larger scissors has one item missing.
