Anglo-Indian tortoiseshell and ivory jewellery casket Vizagapatam 19th century, the sarcophagus shaped and hinged lid decorated with finely pierced fretwork and pen-work border, the centre panel decorated with growling lion, the lid and base further decorated with strap work and fretwork decoration, the interior lined with pink velvet, raised on four carved ivory animal paw feet, 8in (20½cm) wide, 3¼in (8½cm) high, together with another similar smaller box, 6in (15cm) wide, some damage and losses, mostly to the smaller box (2).
