A FRENCH SEVRES STYLE JEWELLERY BOX, LHERI, LATE 19TH-EARLY 20TH CENTURY of square form and in Art Nouveau taste, the jewellery box features a centered profile portrait of a brunette beauty against a gold background with golden foliate scrolls and a continuous motif of bright pink and gold lilies. the box opens from the small foliate bronze scroll handle. on the interior a design of two purple irises is painted on the white porcelain. marked with factory mark blue interlaced L mark with S and iron-red CHÂTEAU mark underneath, signed Lheri lower left of centered portrait; dimensions: 10 x 22 cm (4 x 8 5/8 in.) CONDITION The jewellery box appears in age-appropriate condition. Light surface scratches around the gold background of the centered portrait. Rubbing of gold visible around the feet of the jewellery box. Overall dust around the bronze rim and on the interior. Inspection under UV shows no apparent signs of restoration. N.B.
