A COLLECTION OF LATE 19TH CENTURY BLACK FOREST STYLE OAK CARVINGS To include a serpentine shaped jewellery box, with carved bird finial and quilted satin interior, an inkwell and pen holder with carved perched eagle, two carved bear pen stands, two matchbox holders, ashtrays, an inkwell carved with a horseshoe and riding cap, two dachshunds and a seated bear, two leaf shaped dishes and a treen and glass portable inkwell.
HENRY MATTHEWS; an Edward VII hallmarked silver jewellery box of shaped oval form with cast and pierced scroll decorated border, raised on four outswept supports with lobed feet and velvet lined interior, Chester 1905, length 11.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Hallmarks are clear. The cover is slightly sprung and has rubbed areas to the pierced raised rim. the interior and base fabric are both heavily worn.

An exhibition quality 19th century satinwood and painted dressing table, the shield shaped mirror with pierced floral border flanked by twin cupboard doors each centred with an oval panel depicting a Classical scene, the stepped back section with three drawers and painted oval cameo medallions above a detailed floral and urn painted shaped serpentine crossbanded top, with fitted baize lined drawer with hinged central surface and sliding platform, raised on ring turned tapering legs united by shaped square section stretchers, centred with a removable oval hinged and floral painted jewellery box, width 103cm, height approx 167cm, depth 55.5cm. Note: an article in the late 1970s in Connoisseur details a virtually identical dressing table as being c.1862-1865 and catalogued it as being the earliest known Sheraton revival example.
