In 1639 he joined Saint Luke's Guild and later became a co-founder of the Confrerie Pictura. Only a small number of works by the artist are known, and most depict a simple spherical glass vase, a favourite motif of van de Venne. 1920s era 8ct natural Ceylonese sapphire and diamond ring. The ring set with a rectangular cushion-cut transparent, vivid-blue sapphire measuring 13.9 x 10.9 x 6.1 mm, flanked by two baguette diamonds approx 36 pts, with brilliant-cuts to the collar, size O+, approx 5.51 gms. Gem & Pearl Laboratory Certificate dated 19/11/2021 stating no evidence of heat treatment was observed, presented in a red leather Cartier box. Property of a Cotswold lady.
