WI BROADWAY & CO; an Elizabeth II hallmarked silver circular jewellery box of tapering form with hinged lid embossed with birds and foliate scrolls surrounding a vacant cartouche, enclosing velvet lined interior, Birmingham 1969, diameter 8.5cm, and a circular bonbon dish with pierced sides, TH Hazelwood & Co, Birmingham, date letter rubbed, 1908-1921, diameter 10.5cm, weighable silver approx 1.9ozt (2). CONDITION REPORT: The jewellery box is in good condition apart from areas of tarnish, dirt and residue of cleaning products to the lid (mainly to the incised parts), the lid sits correctly, general minor surface wear and odd dints to the body. The bonbon dish is in good condition with minor surface dirt and tarnishing.
NATHAN & HAYES; a George V hallmarked silver circular jewellery box of tapering form engraved with husk garlands and vacant cartouche, with hinged pin cushion lid, Birmingham 1913, diameter of base 12cm, and a further similar smaller example, Sanders & Mackenzie, Birmingham 1922, diameter 10cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: The larger box has pin holes to the cushion, general wear and staining to the inside, crudely glued by the hinge, silver generally good with mild tarnishing and some tiny splits underneath the base, very minor dints and surface wear commensurate with age. The other has small dints throughout, hallmarks partially rubbed but still legible, the hinged lid collapsed to the top, interior with wear and staining, also appears to have been relined.
A 20th century abalone shell detailed rectangular trinket box, 22 x 15cm, a similar smaller example, width 12cm, a hexagonal example, a smaller bone topped example, width 12cm and an early 20th century leather glass topped small display case suitable for objets du virtue, diameter 26cm (5). CONDITION REPORT: Some small losses and old repairs to the abalone shell trinket boxes, quite heavy wear to the leather of the jewellery case including losses to the leather, noticeably to the front, heavy scuffs and wear throughout.
