AN EDWARDIAN SILVER JEWELLERY BOX of swept rectangular form, the slightly domed hinged top with embossed foliate scroll, mask head and bird decoration, centred by a cartouché engraved `MAM`, the tapering body with conforming embossed decoration, stamped London 1906 maker WC, the interior lined with turquoise coloured material. 10cm(h) x 20cm(w) x 18cm(d)
A MAHOGANY WHEEL BAROMETER signed Benjamin Parri, Skipton (fl.1834-41), having ivory finial with hydrometer and thermometer box, 8" silvered dial and spirit level, with signed silvered dial, the case with ebony stringing and swan neck pediment, 38 1/2" high. Provenance: Nicholas Goodison English Barometer 1680-1860, Benjamin Parri (whose name was probably Baldisaro, worked in Skipton as a barometer maker and jewellery, having apprenticed to Remundi in Halifax. He died in 1864 and his son-in-law Innocenti Fattorini continued the business

Makers Finnegan London & Manchester. Hallmarks London 1911, the leather case monogrammed AW and in a canvas outer case. Together with two similar brushes. Birmingham 1909. Maker HM.
