A collection of Old English Pattern silver flatware including a set of five egg spoons, London, 1806, maker's marks indistinct and four further teaspoons, London, 2 x 1825; 1 x 1805 & 1 x 1796 together with 2 further teaspoons, Chester, 1910; a sauce ladle, Birmingham, 1921; a sugar tongs, Birmingham, 1908 and a Caddy spoon, shell shaped bowl, Birmingham, 1914 (14)6.93 ozs (215 grams)
A rare George II Channel Islands silver soup ladle, c.1740, two versions of maker's mark PA (one crowned), each struck once (Pierre Amiraux, I, II and possibly III, Jersey 1696-1808), Hanoverian pattern, the good gauge bowl with flat edge and slightly everted lip, inscribed with 'J.E' monogram beneath terminal, 12½in. (31.75cm.) long, weight 5.1 tr.oz.
A rare George II Channel Islands silver punch ladle, maker's mark PM struck once inside bowl (Pierre Maingy, Guernsey, fl. c.1739-1776), the egg shaped bowl with flat base inscribed 'PRB', on a short tapered stem with heart shaped mount, the handle in turned wood with baluster terminal, 13 3/8in. (34cm.) long, gross weight 2.45 tr.oz.
A George III Scottish silver Fiddle pattern toddy ladle, initialled "G", maker's mark J.MD conjoined, probably for John McDonald, Edinburgh, 1815; also a Scottish single-struck Kings pattern teaspoon and a similar Scottish single-struck Queens pattern teaspoon, Glasgow, 1831 and 1861 respectively, both initialled, wt. 63 gm. (3).All in overall good order.
An Edwardian silver Old English pattern table service, initialled "R", by James Deakin & Sons, Sheffield, 1901/1902, the knives and most serving pieces with ivorine handles, in fitted four-drawer wooden canteen fixed on to a wooden cabinet and comprising:- 12 table forks, 12 dessert forks, 12 dessert spoons, 12 teaspoons, 4 salt spoons, 6 table spoons, 2 sauce ladles, 1 sifter spoon, pair of fish servers, 1 soup ladle, 1 basting spoon, 6 egg spoons, 12 pairs of fish knives and forks, 12 pairs of fruit knives and forks with mother-of-pearl handles, pair of knife rests, a butter knife, a pickle fork, a jam spoon, a Stilton scoop, a melon or cake knife, a bread fork, 12 table knives and 12 cheese knives all with steel blades, weighable silver 3820 gm. Cabinet 112 cm. high x 84 cm. wide x 51 cm. deep. Generally good condition, tines of table forks are very worn, 1 or 2 fish knife blades are crookedly set to handles, crack to handle of 1 carving knife.
An unmarked bowl of a George III punch ladle adapted as a small sauceboat with later addition of foot and handle and centred by a 1780 Spanish coin; a George III silver picture-back teaspoon possibly by William Withers, London, circa 1765, bowl die-stamped with dove and olive branch, initialled "SB"; a Chinese silver spoon stamped with maker's mark "Shen Xing" in Chinese characters, circa 1910, with bamboo-decorated bowl, stem with child supporting two graduated coins; a watch in floral-engraved silver case, with gilt fruiting vines around the white enamel face; and a Victorian Kings Husk pattern silver teaspoon, Sheffield, 1839, weighable silver 99 gm. (5).There is a hole at back of small sauceboat. Decoration on picture back teaspoon is very worn and wear to bowl. Wear to bowl of Kings Husk teaspoon.
A silver hallmarked ladle - mark for London 1936-37, a small oval tray with foliate engraving - raised on four feet, mark for London 1802-03 and two small hallmarked toddies, mark for London 1968-69 - one of toddies is dented and tray has small dent to surface - otherwise bright and good condition - approx 9.2 troy oz
