THE LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY (2001-2003) - Gimli's (John Rhys-Davies) Double-headed Axe - Gimli's (John Rhys-Davies) double-headed axe from Peter Jackson's epic fantasy trilogy The Lord of the Rings. One of the brave Fellowship tasked with destroying the evil Ring in the fires of Mount Doom, Gimli carried his double-headed axe on his back throughout the trilogy and used it at the Battle of Helm's Deep against Sauron's forces. Rhys-Davies also posed in character with the axe in promotional photographs. The trilogy is one of the most critically and commercially successful in film history, and was nominated for a total of 30 Academy Awards, winning 17.Made of hard resin, the axe is beautifully detailed and distressed to resemble a steel blade, worn wooden shaft and leather-wrapped handle. The weapon is scaled to the size of Rhys-Davies - two sizes were created - the other being for one of the shorter performers used in long shots to create the appearance of Gimli as a Dwarf. The piece was originally made for and used on the production, and was subsequently provided by Weta Workshop to licensee Sideshow Toys as a reference piece for producing licensed replicas and toys, and features an engraving along the shaft that reads "Gimli's Double-headed Axe / Sideshow Toy / 12 June 02 / 0010W." One side of the blade is also engraved with "0010W" and the image of a Weta bug.The weapon exhibits some minor production wear on the blade. Marie Louise asks her correspondent to help her to find a present on the occasion of the immediate birth expected that same day of the little princess Napoleon, daughter of Princess Elisa Bonaparte, sister of Napoleon Bonaparte, stating in part `... je vous écris pour vous prier de m´aider dans un petit embarras. C’est aujourd’hui le jour de naissance de la petite Princesse Napoléon. Je lui promis hier un cadeau, l’oubliais tout le jour, et je ne sais pas si nous trouverons aujourd’hui à acheter des joujoux... Si la possibilité en est veuillez bien envoyer tout de suite à Paris pour m´en faire venir afin que je choisisse...´ (Translation: "I am writing to you to ask you to help me in a little difficulty. Today is the birthday of little Princess Napoleon. I promised her a gift yesterday, forgot about it all day, and I don't know if we will be able to buy toys today... The present letter provenance is from her personal archive letters.Elisa Napoléone Baciocchi (1806-1869) also known as Madame Napoléone, nieceof Napoleon Bonaparte. She was the daughter of Felice Baciocchi and Elisa Bonaparte, Princess of Lucca and Piombino and sister of Napoleon I. She was their only child to live beyond their teenage years.

She was the eldest daughter of King Henry II of France and Catherine de´Medici. Elisabeth died at the very early age of 23. A very rare Autograph letter signed by the Queen, to her mother. A.L.S., `Elisabeth´, one page, folio, n.p., n.d., to the Queen of France and her mother Catherine de´Medici, in old French. Elisabeth asks for an important favour, stating in part `Madame, j'ai su le bien et faveur qu'il vous a plu faire…de certain arrêt duquel il se soit peiné bien fort, moyennant laquelle révision et fasse lui de justifier son innocence qui est cause que de nouveau je redoive vous supplier faire…il a souffert de dommage en sa personne et biens par la malice de ses ennemis. J'ai prié dieu madame qu'il vous tienne en santé très heureuse et longue vie. Votre très humble et très obéissante fille´ (Translation: "Madame, I have learned the good favour you have been kind to do... of certain judgment which he has suffered himself very much, in return for which revision and make him justify his innocence which is the cause that again I must beg you to do… he suffered damage to his person and properties by the malice of his enemies. I prayed to God madam that he keep you very healthy and long life. Your very humble and very obedient daughter") With address leaf stating `A la Reyne, Madame et mère´ (Translation: "To the Queen, Madame and mother") A very rare latter of good association. Overall age wear, with foxing and creases, mostly to edges. About G King Philip II of Spain was very attached to Elisabeth of France, staying close by her side even when she was ill with smallpox. Both were very close to their two daughters, buying them dolls and toys and both rejoiced at the birth of Isabella as if it had been the birth of a son. Elisabeth had another miscarriage on 3 October 1568, and died the same day, along with her new-born infant daughter. After the death of Elisabeth, Catherine de´Medici offered her younger daughter Margaret as a bride for Philip II, but the King declined the offer
