An early 20th century vintage tinplate clockwork boat car with driver, length 16cm, with a similar tinplate model of a boat and an earlier painted galvanised metal clockwork model of a steamship (3).PROVENANCE: The Collection of Jack Tempest. Additional InformationThe mechanism to the boat car does wind and run however the mechanism to the white boat winds but does not run. Both of the tinplate toys with general wear and scratches to the decoration throughout. The painted galvanised boat has heavy losses to the paint throughout. The hey does turn but does wind the spring. This is overall tired.

Four German tinplate clockwork toys, three modelled as monkeys and one as a clown, comprising a monkey on a trike, another with rise and fall arms and the third with side to side legs, the fourth a clown with side to side arm action, longest 12cm (4).PROVENANCE: The Collection of Jack Tempest. Additional InformationNo key to any but all do wind and do function albeit the clown sluggishly. All with general age wear to the detailing hear and there with light scratches and marks but overall fair.

This is possibly the example illustrated in Jack's book 'Collecting Tin Toys', page 82.Additional InformationThe front clothes faded in colour and slightly grubby and with some marks throughout. The detailing to the face, hands and shoes has general age wear rubbing and marks. The key is present and does wind the figures which operates, overall fair.
