MARVEL COMICS - Transformers Limited Series No. 3 P. 17 by Frank Springer and Kim DeMulderTransformers issue 3 page 17 published by Marvel Comics in January 1985 titled "Prisoner of War!" The third in a four-part limited series released just as toys defining the origins and personalities of the Transformers and Decepticons hit US store shelves in 1984, the issue was written by Jim Salicrup with pencils by Frank Springer, inks by Kim DeMulder and Mike Esposito, and colors by Nel Yomtov.This six-panel comic art board inked by DeMulder with pencils by Springer features appearances by Optimus Prime, Brawn, Frenzy, Gears, and Spider-Man in his Black Symbiote costume. The issue was published one month after the Symbiote's origin was explained in Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars No. 8. The board is hand-marked "Transformers," "3," and "22" with additional annotations in the margins and its corners cut, as is standard practice.
