Juli 1987) in der Old Forge Gallery in Elstead, Surrey. "The Rehablitation of Battery Hens" war Nr. 20 im Ausstellungskatalog. (35.5 cm) extended. - Provenance: Purchased at the Exhibition of Automata (18 June to 11 July 1987) at the Old Forge Gallery in Elstead, Surrey. "The Rehablitation of Battery Hens" was No. 20 in the exhibition catalog. - Note: Born in Birmingham in 1959, Mills started building automata while at College in Wolverhampton in 1980. He helped found Brighton’s Red Herring Studios in 1983 and exhibited his work at the Craft Council’s 1987 exhibition in London and at One Off, Ron Arad’s workshop and gallery. "His output is extraordinarily diverse and charmingly subversive. He makes dangerous toys and automata, dysfunctional furniture and an amazing range of sculpture with themes that are witty, whimsical, and sometimes darkly Gothic." - References: Brighton & Hove Museums, https://brightonmuseums.org.uk/discovery/history-stories/mr-watt-grumpy-man-of-metal-by-jon-mills/.
