Girl with Her Toys Musical Automaton by Lambert, c. 1900 With Simon & Halbig bisque head impressed "SH 1039 7 DEP", open mouth with teeth and tongue, fixed brown glass eyes, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig and right bisque arm holding rattle, sitting on velvet-covered base with a stationary bisque-headed rider on a donkey, the single-air going-barrel movement driving 4 cams and 6 levers that cause the girl to raise the rattle and kick her right leg, then turn her head, bend from the waist, kick her left leg and cradle the doll as though rocking it to sleep, in later cotton print costume, red felt hat and leather shoes, height approx. 14 in. (36 cm), left hand replaced, with brass LB key and stop/start. - Literature: Bailly, "Automata, The Golden Age", p. 184. - Lambert took out French patent no. 238.207 for a similar automaton in May 1894. - An unusual Lambert automaton with complex series of movements, in working order. Das Mädchen sitzt auf einem samtbezogenen Sockel mit dem Federwerkmotor für die Bewegungen (4 Nockenscheiben und 6 Hebel) und dem Walzenspielwerk mit einer Melodie (Sur le pont d´Avignon). Mit Biskuitporzellankopf-Puppe, einen Esel reitend, und Hund. Während die Musik spielt, hebt das Mädchen die Rassel, stößt mit dem rechten Bein auf den Boden, dreht den Köpf, beugt den Oberkörper nach vorne, hebt das linke Bein und "wiegt die kleine Puppe in den Schlaf". In ergänzter Baumwollkleidung, mit rotem Filzhut und Lederschuhen. Höhe 36 cm (rechte Hand ergänzt). Lambert-Messingschlüssel und -Starthebel. - Ein außergewöhnlicher Automat von Lambert mit einer Vielzahl von Bewegungsabläufen. Musical Automaton of a Spanish Dancer by Roullet & Decamps, c. 1900 With Simon & Halbig bisque head impressed "S & H, 1039, Dep." and red "Wimpern" stamp, open mouth, articulated flirty blue glass eyes with mohair lashes, pierced ears, original dark brown hair wig, adult papier-mâché body with bisque hands, one raised aloft, the other resting on her hips, on velvet-covered base with single-air going-barrel movement causing the dancer to turn back and forth 45° on her right heel, while stamping her left foot, twirling the tambourine, swaying her head and glancing left and right, in part-original lace-over-satin costume and velvet bolero jacket, height 21 in. (53 cm), with RD stop/start. - Another example of this model was reputedly given by Tsar Nicholas II to Princesses Olga and Elizabeth of Greece in around 1900. Während die Musik spielt, dreht die Dame sich im 45°-Winkel auf dem rechten Bein, stampft im Rhythmus mit dem linken Fuß auf den Boden, dreht das Tamburin, wiegt den Kopf und schaut mit den Augen nach links und rechts. Teilweise Original-Kleidung aus Spitze und Satin mit Bolero-Jacke aus Samt. Original-Starthebel "R&D".
