ELF (2003) - Buddy's (Will Ferrell) SFX Jack-in-the-Box - Buddy's (Will Ferrell) SFX Jack-in-the-Box from Jon Favreau's Christmas movie Elf. Buddy tested frightening Jack-in-the-Box toys in Santa's (Ed Asner) workshop. One of them later appeared on Santa's sleigh.This Jack-in-the-Box was customized with an internal remote-firing system by the SFX team to control the padded felt Jack's launch time during the workshop and sleigh scenes. The Jack comes inside a colorful tin box affixed with a red-topped crank which operates a music box on the interior. Due to its adjustments, the lid must be lifted for the Jack to launch, and the remote-firing mechanism was removed following production. The box exhibits scratching and scuffing around its edges from use. LORD OF THE RINGS, THE: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING (2001) - The Witch-king's (Brent McIntyre) Dagger - The Witch-king's (Brent McIntyre) dagger from Peter Jackson's fantasy epic The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The Witch-king used his dagger, otherwise known as the Morgul-knife, to stab Frodo (Elijah Wood) when the Nazgûl attacked him and his three companions.This sword was produced by Weta Workshop and, during a visit to the set in 2002, was gifted to executives at Sideshow Toys, who were licensed to distribute collectables from the films. It features a jagged aluminum blade and a silver-color, metal-plated urethane cross-guard, a black resin grip, and a spiked pommel. The dagger has been intentionally distressed to appear rusted and menacing. An engraving along the blade features the Weta logo and text that reads "Witch King Dagger, Sideshow Toys/12 June 02/0002W." STAR WARS TOYS - Hand-Painted "Yoda's World" Trading Card Painting - A "Yoda's World" trading card painting hand-painted by artist John Rheaume for Topps' Star Wars Galaxy Series trading cards. Rheaume created this painting to explore Yoda's backstory, but as it did not receive Lucasfilm's approval, the card was ultimately pulled and destroyed by Topps. Some of these cards survived the pulped run, and the piece was later authorized for the Series 4 trading card series circa 2009.This mixed media painting depicting Yoda with others of his species comes from the personal collection of William Plumb. It is signed by Rheaume in silver-color marker. Also included are a plastic-sheathed surviving Series 2 Mint-graded "Yoda's World" trading card; a Letter of Authenticity from Rheaume; and five photographs, including one featuring Rheaume holding this painting.
