Royal Worcester vases, both painted with pansies and gilt enamel leaves and accents, green factory marks, approx 20cms height, together with a Royal Worcester jug with painted poppies and golden accents, measuring 17cm. Note: one of the vases has one repaired piece to the spout, and the jug has two repairs to the spout. Please see images for condition.
19th century Royal Worcester vase, painted with birds by Hopewell and gilded by George Shaw, circa 1875 together with a Royal Worcester pot G69 shape made in 1911.Note: some gilding loss to handles and vase neck and the base of the feet. An engraved 'Friendly Hunt' firing glass of Jacobite interest, circa 1750The drawn trumpet bowl inscribed 'THE FRIENDLY HUNT' flanking a floral sprig, on a short plain stem and heavy conical foot, 9cm highFootnotes:The Friendly Hunt was a Worcestershire meet probably connected with a Jacobite society in Worcester known as The Friendly Association. Founded in 1747, the Association met annually in rotation in the neighbouring towns of Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster and Stourbridge. A similar firing glass from The Ron and Mary Thomas Collection was sold by Bonhams on 4 June 2008 and is illustrated by Geoffrey Seddon, The Jacobites and Their Drinking Glasses (1995), p.120, pl.86 and by Arthur Churchill, History in Glass (1937), pl.20, no.92. Together with the present lot only a handful of other examples exist including one in the Victoria and Albert Museum (accession no. C.257-1925) and one in the Harding Collection, Christ Church College, Oxford.
