In an effort to explain the importance of his rocket pack, Howard Hughes (Terry O'Quinn) showed Cliff Secord (Bill Campbell) a propaganda cartoon that featured the Nazis using his rocket pack to help them defeat the United States and conquer the world. This lot consists of 17 pieces of black poster board affixed with a combination of black-and-white printed storyboard images and design concept sketches for the animation sequence. Several of the storyboards feature text descriptions of the depicted images. The poster features an illustration of a black army boot and a blood stained knife on the end of an automated gun with yellow red and blue children's playing blocks on a square pattern brown and black tile floor. Text in English and Arabic in yellow at the bottom of the poster. Sabra Shatila was the killing of between 460 and 3,500 civilians, mostly Palestinians and Lebanese Shiites by a militia in the Sabra neighbourhood and the adjacent Shatila refugee camp in Beirut, Lebanon on 16-18 September 1982. In January 1986, 5,500 News International Group workers were sacked after refusing to sign altered contracts when the owner Rupert Murdoch moved the printing works from Fleet Street to Wapping. The strike - also known as the Wapping Affair - failed in 1987 and was a significant factor in the decline of trade union influence in Britain. The poster shows a crowd of women of different ages and professions holding up a large red banner which displays details of the march in white text. Organised by the SERTUC (South and East Region of the Trades Union Congress), the demonstration took place Saturday 2nd August. Excellent condition. Icarus, a protagonist of a Greek myth, was a young man obsessed with the idea of flying; determined to fulfil his dream he constructed beautiful wings made from wax, one day he headed straight up towards the bright light of the sun that melted the wax and Icarus plunged to his death. Henri Matisse depicts Icarus as a black silhouette, falling through the deep blue sky with bursts of the yellow sunlight and a bright red spot in place of heart.
