A mid-19th century mahogany eight day longcase clock, the 13 1/2 inch painted dial signed J Hughes & Co Carnarvon, with centred subsidiary seconds dial within a ring of Roman numerals, the figural painted four continent spandrels, under a painted arch with lion with automaton eyes, the hood with wrythen moulded front corner hood pilasters, over a short crossbanded trunk door, flanked by conforming front corner trunk pilasters, on a crossbanded base with shaped apron and short bracket feet, 231cm high Note: John Hughes is listed as clockmaker working from Poole Street in the mid-19th century
