A George III Silver Game-Hook, Apparently Unmarked, Circa 1800, with a reeded barrel with suspension loops top and bottom, the bottom loop with two hooks, engraved 'Mrs Massey Pool' with an associated chatelaine clip, 8.5cm long excluding chatelain clip, 16dwt The 'Mrs Massey' engraved on the present game-hook probably relates to the mother of William Massey who rebuilt Poole (earlier known as Pool) Hall, near Nantwich in Cheshire from 1812-1817. She is recorded as the heiress of Pool and died in 1825. . There are some minor surface scratches consistent with use and some minor cracks to the hooks. Otherwise in generally good condition.
