The coronation coronet of a baron, a silver parcel gilt baron's coronet by Sebastian Garrard, London 1901, matted and chased with silver balls as 'pearls', ermine trim lacking and lined with a red velvet cap of maintenance with a gold braid finial, gilt stamped R. & S. Garrard & Co., approx. 10cm high, in a japanned tin case from H. Poole & Co. and brass nameplate engraved Rt. Honble. Lord Wenlock GCSI, GCIE, KCB. Named for Beilby Lawley, 3rd Baron Wenlock, GCSI, GCIE, KCB (1849 -1912). He was a soldier, Liberal politician and colonial administrator who was the Governor of Madras from 1891 to 1896. On his death he was succeeded by his brothers as 4th, 5th and 6th barons. Arthur Lawley, 6th Baron Wenlock, GCSI, GCIE, KCMG (1860-1932) was a colonial administrator who served variously as Administrator of Matabeleland, Governor of Western Australia, Lieutenant-Governor of the Transvaal, and also as Governor of Madras. His only son, Richard, died in a hunting accident. Upon his death the title became extinct. One of his daughters was Hon. Ursula Mary Lawley, later Lady Wraxall, wife of George Gibbs, 1st Baron Wraxall and mother of both 2nd and 3rd Barons.
