He has been housebound for many years and entirely self-taught.The artist only recently discovered his art and is what is termed 'Outsider' or the French term, 'Brut art'. Using predominately found objects, re-cycled and up-cycled materials, the artist combines them in a fusion of assemblage, papier-mâché, decoupage sculptural objects which are influenced by natural history, folk art, steampunk & museum specimens. His sculptures fall into his own perception of wunderkammer (Cabinet of Curiosities'), artefacts & fantasy species. He has several sculpture artworks digitally represented, touring as part of the 'Alternative Visions' exhibition at Bristol museum & gallery, Cheltenham Gallery, Poole Museum & Gallery, & Falmouth Art Gallery throughout 2017. DISCLAIMER: The Porthleven baulk/harbour defence wood is made (on the whole) of Douglas Fir Pine. The actual date of the wood is unknown, the wood broke on the 5th February 2014 and after that was stored outdoors in the harbour yard. Wood is a natural product that responds to temperature and humidity variations by expanding and contracting. You are purchasing a natural product as seen and the Charity the Fishermen's Mission cannot be held responsible for any changes in the wood after the auction on the 18th March 2017.

POOLE POTTERY; a tall carved and glazed vase of tapering form, incised pottery mark and painted decorator's mark for Josephine Wall, made 1967-68, height 39.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Short faint hairline to inside of rim, otherwise appears good with no further obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
