Attributed to Antoine Ignace Melling (1763-1831) 'Constantinople', the Bosporus with naval vessels, natives in wooden craft and the city beyond, "Constantinople", Hagia Sophia with Minarets, other domed buildings of the City nearby and figures in vessels on the Bosporus in the foreground. both inscribed with the artists name his dates and the titles on later labels verso, pen ink and watercolour wash, 33cm x 56 cm (a pair) **Provenance, brought back to England by Edward Bishop Elliott, great grandfather of the vendor, a descendant of Dr Thomas Monro (1759-1833) who was principal physician at Bethlem in 1792, and in 1811 and 1812 was called in consultation to George III at Windsor, he also treated John Robert Cozens. He collected watercolours which included examples by, Hearne, Cozens, Canaletto, Wilson, Gainsborough and many other eminent painters, he was also one of the most notable patrons of the day and allowed Turner and Girtin to copy the drawings in his collection. All his children were competent at drawing, Henry and Robert were perhaps the most talented, Henry Monro (1791-1814) is represented in both the Ashmolean Museum Oxford and the Fitzwilliam in Cambridge. He himself called his own drawings, "my imaginings" they are very much in the Gainsborough manner, using wet paper a stick of Indian ink and finished with a brush.

This is a live breast cast made from plaster of paris of Louise Dowe. Louise says, ""We have as sisters taken part in this event in memory of our beautiful mum. She battled hard to fight this disease for twelve years through heartache, pain and many tears. Our mum taught us to care and always be aware!! So we now present to you the casts of our breast?s for you to view. This ones for you our little lady. Love you always, your girls xxxxxx"". Louise`s cast was painted by Finola Foy. ""I am inspired by vibrant colours, shapes and forms. The majority of my work is abstract impressionist, where I work free hand and let my hand guide me in certain directions, movements and brush strokes. Most of the time I never know how my painting will look when finished. I find this veryexciting and gratifying"". The approximate size of this cast is 15 inches x 8 inches. A Royal Worcester silver mounted hand mirror and clothes brush. Painted in coloured enamels by Harry Stinton with highland cattle. Signed, assayed Birmingham 1928. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Minor dents to the silver. Porcelain crazed, small scratch between the cattle on the mirror. No other damage, free from restoration.

Largest with a large piece of the foot re glued. Both with chipping to the foot. Cylindrical jar with a large portion of the foot lost.
