A PLAIN SILVER SAUCE BOAT, Birmingham 1930, mark of Clark & Sewell, with beaded rim, flying 'c' scroll handle, and raised on three shell capped hoof feet. 17cm wide over handle and spout; together with an Irish silver helmet shaped cream jug and matching sugar bowl of circular form, Dublin 1932 and 1931, mark of West & Son, both examples engraved with crest; and a silver backed brush, Birmingham 1926, maker's mark rubbed, engraved with initial, (c.10 troy ozs all in not including brush). Pip McGarry (b.1955) Resting Cheetah Signed and dated 2014, oil on canvas, 36cm by 46cm (unframed) Pip McGarry was the founder and Chairman of the largest wildlife art society in Europe and has been the 'Artist-in-Residence' at Marwell Zoological Park in Hampshire for fifteen years. He first came to prominence in 2004 with his television series 'A Brush With The Wild'. He has organized and led over twenty five safaris for wildlife artists and photographers to game reserves in Northern Botswana, North and South Tanzania and Kenya. He was also a judge on the BBC 'Wildlife Artist of the Year' four years in a row and has held numerous solo exhibitions throughout the UK. See illustration

A 19th Century brass corkscrew, the cylinder with ringed decoration and domed shoulders, enclosing a single twist action and plain helix with a turned rosewood handle (brush missing) CONDITION REPORTS 18.5 cm long Damage to the handle, various splits, scratches, scuffs, marks, small chips. Damage to the non-brush end and may have been repaired. No brush. Rusts to the iron ring at the top. Brass screw is worn and pitted, various scratches and scuffs. The body dented, some split type marks. Very worn, scratches and scuffs and small dents to the rim. Rust to the screw and small damage to the end of the screw. Various general signs of wear and tear throughout. Suggest viewing in person

A VICTORIAN MAHOGANY ARTIST'S EASEL, the painting support and brush compartment with a height adjustable brass mechanism, in the manner of Windsor & Newton, 81" high x 27.5" wide.Provenance: Selected contents from the Estate of Marevna (1892-1984) Born Marie Vorobieff-Stebelska in Cheboksary, Russia and given her signature nickname by Maxim Gorky, after a Russian fairy sea princess, Marevna moved to Paris in 1912 as an aspiring twenty year old. It was there that she became friends with some of the greatest artists and writers of the early twentieth century then resident in Montparnasse and especially at La Ruche, among them were Pablo Picasso Georges Braque, Marc Chagall , Jean Cocteau, Ilya Ehrenburg, Max Jacob, Moise Kisling, Henri Matisse, Amedeo Modigliani and Chaim Soutine.It was while a resident of La Ruche that Marevna met the prominent Mexican artist Diego Rivera and the two had a complicated relationship, which produced a daughter, Marika in 1919. Rivera returned to Mexico in 1921, leaving Marevna and their daughter behind in Paris.The following lots (1238-1249a) are some of the items Marevna chose to surround herself with in later years, some of which can be seen in the images shown here, notably her easel, upon which no doubt she created and showcased some of her most famous works, and an alabaster mask of an unidentified face, perhaps showcasing the inspiration she received from her friends and contemporaries, such as Picasso and Braque
