Trevanion recommends that buyers check with their own government regarding any importation requirements prior to placing a bid. A buyer's inability to import these lots cannot justify a delay in payment or sale cancellation.The government have proposed legislation to create a UK law to ban the sale of all ivory. A RARE CASED VICTORIAN 12-BORE PINFIRE LOADING AND CLEANING SET, circa 1865, possibly French, comprising of a two-tiered oak case measuring externally approximately 10 1/2in. x 6in. x 4 1/4in., loose handle mounted to a bow-tie escutcheon on the lid, the interior lined in red baize in the continental style, the top-tray containing a three piece lignum sizing tool, two adjustable powder or shot measures (one a replacement) and a 'Hawksley' brass capper (additional compartment for a powder scoop, missing), the lower tray with a four-piece brass mounted mahogany cleaning rod, 'Turk's' head brush, pull-through weight, French cap-tin and a worm (additional compartments for a turn-screw and possibly a cartridge extractor, both absent).
