Jh. wohl AMBERG: zwei Walzenkrüge mit je blau-/gelbtonigen Malereien von Jagdszenen, Krug mit Jäger und Hund bez. und datiert "B.B. 1788", Krug mit Hirschszene am Henkelende datiert "1779", jeweils Zinndeckel mit Prägung eines Herrscherporträts und bodenseitige Pinselmarke "AB", H je 21 cm sowie Birnkrug mit bodenseitiger Pressmarke (unleserl.), Landschaftsszenerie mit Jäger, Zinndeckel mit 2 Punzen (Turm und Löwe) H 23 cm, starke Altersspuren, dazu kleiner Krug des 20. Sprünge, Beschädigungen (Lippenränder), starke Altersspuren.| AMBERG (?) 4 pieces of jugs, 18. th and 20th century, probably AMBERG: two barrel jugs each with blue- and yellow-toned paintings of hunting scenes, jug with hunter and dog labeled and dated "BB 1788", jug with deer scene at the end of the handle dated "1779", each tin lids embossed with a portrait of a ruler and brush mark "AB" on the bottom ", H 21 cm each as well as a pear jug with press mark on the bottom (illegible), landscape scenery with hunter, tin lid with 2 hallmarks (tower and lion) H 23 cm, strong signs of age, with a small jug from the 20th century with coat of arms and horse as well as Württemberg Motto "Fearless and true" in blue painting, h 18 cm (edge slightly dam.). Jugs with craquelé glaze, partly cracks, damage (lip rims), strong signs of age.
John Barron signed and inscribed 6x4 album page. Barron was an English actor best remembered for his role in the BBC comedy The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin (1976-79) playing C J, Perrin's overbearing boss, later employee. The show also gave Barron the memorable catchphrase- didn't get where I am today by. On the reverse of this page is a dedicated signature from Erika Hoffman, an English actress who appeared as Lesley Bainbridge in the BBC comedy Brush Strokes. Good condition. TWO CHINESE JADE 'LOTUS' BRUSH WASHERS QING DYNASTY One worked in celadon jade as a large lotus leaf furling at the edges, the underside with a smaller leaf and a flower bud growing from a rhizome, with some brown inclusions in the stone, the other carved in white and russet jade as a large lotus flowerhead, the petals curling in at the rim, with a seed pod and a large leaf beside the bloom, the base with the remains of an old paper label, one with a wood stand, 7.5cm and 8.3cm. A CHINESE CELADON JADE CONJOINED VASE AND A WHITE JADE BRUSH HOLDER LATE QING DYNASTY/REPUBLIC PERIOD The conjoined vase carved as a cylindrical vessel attached to a flattened two-handled vase raised on a flared foot, the cylindrical body decorated with an elephant beneath a plantain tree, the greyish stone with russet inclusions, the body of the white brush holder formed as bamboo, decorated in relief with an insect, frog and crane in a rocky landscape amidst pine and lingzhi, the pale greyish-white stone with some black flecks and russet markings, each together with a wood stand, 17.5cm and 14.3cm. (4) Provenance: formerly a private collection, London, formed c.1959-1963. Both purchased from Chuen Koo Chai Dealers in Ancient Chinese Arts & Curio, Hong Kong. The conjoined vase purchased on 16th November 1955. The white brush holder acquired on 4th December 1963. Copies of the invoices are available. A certificate of identity for the white brush holder dated 6th December 1963 from The Curios, Furniture & Miscellaneous Utensils & Hardware Merchants & Employees Association, Hong Kong & Kowloon, is also available. Lots 79-84 and 692-694 are all from the same collection.
A CHINESE AGATE 'PRUNUS' BRUSH WASHER LATE QING DYNASTY/REPUBLIC PERIOD The compressed body raised on three short feet, carved in high relief with flowering gnarled prunus branches wrapped around the body, the stone of a pale brown colour with some russet markings, together with an openwork wood stand, 13cm. A LARGE CHINESE CELADON JADE RUYI SCEPTRE AND A BRUSH WASHER 20TH CENTURY The sceptre carved in low relief with figures in landscapes and floral sprays, the reverse with a four character Qianlong mark, the brush washer formed as a furled lotus leaf growing from a curled stem which forms the foot, with a lotus bloom picked out in a russet section of the stone to one side, 50.5cm and 8.9cm. A CHINESE DUAN STONE BRUSH WASHER, A ROCK CRYSTAL CARVING AND A BRONZE MODEL OF A HORSE QING DYNASTY/REPUBLIC PERIOD The brush washer carved to the rim with two bats amongst lingzhi picked out in a brown section of the stone, the rock crystal carving formed as horned mythical beast clutching a peach branch with a bird perching on it, the bronze horse cast in a recumbent pose gazing backwards, 14.5cm max, the bronze 132g.
