A FINE QUALITY JAPANESE EDO/MEIJI PERIOD LACQUER SUZURIBAKO, the cover finely decorated with silver leaf and various gold lacquer techniques with a wild goose in flight above flowering chrysanthemum, the underside of the cover with a detailed riverside and pine forest landscape with some details of the torii, bridge and houses in gold leaf, the interior fitted with a similarly decorated smaller tray and also with a fitted inkstone and a kettle-form silver metal waterdropper and stand, the set also with a loose lacquered brush and case, the box 10.1in x 9.3in.
