Pietro Psaier (20th Century) - Silvered finish figure - The Spirit of Ecstasy, standing on an octagonal marbled base, bears signature, 40.5cm high. Pasier was for many years claimed to have been a collaborator and friend of Andy Warhol, however in recent times many bodies including the Warhol Foundation have denounced this claim. Many now feel that the very existence of Psaier is in fact an elaborate hoax.

A.L.S., R Indiana, one page, 4to, Vinalhaven, Maine, 26th September 1974, to Mr & Mrs Robert Allen, on the attractive printed stationery of Star of Hope Lodge. Indiana thanks his correspondents for their birthday greetings and explains that he sent the day on Vinalhaven `but had to come down to Portland for the Symphony Orchestra Presentation. Hope you have seen the poster.` Accompanied by the original envelope hand addressed by Indiana. Together with an oblong slim 8vo colour portion of a magazine image boldly signed in black ink by Andy Warhol and individual signatures of LeRoy Neiman and Raphael Soyer on cards associated with their works or galleries. WARHOL ANDY: (1928-1987) American Pop Artist. Signed 10 x 8 photograph, the image depicting a group of actors and actresses standing together in costume in a scene from Blood for Dracula (1974), a film which Warhol produced. Signed (‘Andy Warhol’) by the artist with his name alone in bold black ink to a largely clear area at the head of the image. VG
After Andy Warhol (1928-1987) MARILYN MONROE A suite of ten, by Sunday B. Morning, each print bearing the blue ink stamp `Published By Sunday B. Morning` and `Fill In Your Own Signature` verso, on each. colour screenprints, full sheet printed to the edges depicting Marilyn Monroe in various colour combinations, printed on heavy museum board 91.2 x 91.2cms; 36 x 36in., each unframed With certificate of authenticity and original box. "In August `62 I started doing silkscreens. I wanted something stronger that gave more of an assembly line effect. With silkscreening you pick a photograph, blow it up, transfer it in glue onto silk, and then roll ink across it so that the ink goes through the silk but not through the glue. That way you get the same image, slightly different each time. It was also simple, quick and chancy. I was thrilled with it. When Marilyn Monroe happened to die that month, I got the idea to make silkscreens of her beautiful face `The First Marilyns`. (Andy Warhol). See illustration
* Psaier (Pietro, 1936-2004). “Spirit of Ecstasy”, a rare sculpted desk piece statuette, c. 1970s, in homage to, and in the manner of Charles Sykes, the artist’s interpretation of the iconic emblem of Rolls Royce, silver-plated cast-bronze, with deliberately “distressed” finish, with stamped inscribed signature by the artist to conical base, and indistinctly numbered “180” beneath one wing, mounted upon a black marble octagonal base, height 16in (41cm) Pietro Psaier, well known for his vibrant paintings, worked with Andy Warhol in his New York studios, and reputedly exhibited jointly with Warhol in 1978. Sadly he lost his life when his remote beach-house in Sri Lanka was washed away in the great Tsunami disaster of December 2004. (1)

A year later, Jagger proposed the idea for Sticky Fingers being the first release on the new Rolling Stones label.
